Four Signs Your European Car Needs a New Set of Tires

The right tires give your European car the stance and the handling that you need and want. But how do you know if you need a new set of tires? Motor City European Repair has these tips for you to help you to spot tire wear faster.

You’ve Got Vibrations

As you’re driving, how does the car feel? Ideally, your European car should be a dream to drive. When your tires are getting old and worn out, you’re more likely to feel vibrations as you’re driving. Typically what happens is that as you speed up, the vibrations get worse. Anything that feels different is something that you should look at more closely or have a technician inspect.

The Tires Don’t Look Right

When you make it a habit to look at your tires from all angles, you can start to notice differences. In general, tires that are getting old and worn out start to look rough and weathered. You might even notice that the sidewalls are starting to look gray and scuffed. If you notice anything that looks like a thinner spot on the sidewall, or a blister, that’s a sign of weakening rubber and it can lead to a blowout.

Your Tread Is Worn Down

Something else to look at regularly is the tread on your car’s tires. What you should see is even wear that gradually decreases over the life of the tires. If you’re seeing chunks missing from your tire treads or the treadwear doesn’t look even, that’s a problem and a possible sign that you have other issues going on.

You’re Putting Air in Your Tires Too Often

Tire pressure normally fluctuates and it’s not uncommon to eventually have to add air to perfectly healthy tires. But if you’re putting air in your tires every few days because the air pressure is low again, you might have a problem. There could be a slow leak somewhere or the tires may be damaged. Regardless, putting air in your car’s tires too often is not a sign you should overlook.
