Are You Carrying the Right Things in Your European Car?

No one ever wants to believe that they’ll be stuck somewhere on the side of the road in their European car. Motor City European Repair wants to help you to be as prepared as possible for any situation.

A First Aid Kit

A general first aid kit is essential to have in your car, because you never know when you might need it. Bandages, antibiotic cream, and wet cleaning wipes are all great tools to have in your first aid kit. Over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen or acetaminophen might also be helpful at times.

Emergency Tools and Equipment

If your car breaks down or you have a problem like a flat tire, you might want to make sure you have the basic emergency repair tools to handle that issue. Having a spare tire as well as tools to replace a tire are a good idea. It’s also important to consider things like jumper cables or a jump pack that could get your battery started again. Flashlights, batteries, flares, and more are also important to consider.

Supplies for a Longer Emergency

But what if you end up in a longer emergency? No one expects to be stuck on a highway for 24 hours, for instance. Having some non-perishable food, water, and even a change of clothes in your trunk might be a great idea. Also consider extras like blankets and charged power packs for your phone.

Seasonally Appropriate Tools

It’s also important to have tools on board that could help you depending on what’s going on with the weather. In summer, having an umbrella and a visor shade could be helpful. In the winter, ice scrapers and even kitty litter could help you more than you realize.

Documents You Might Need

No matter what time of year it is, you need to make sure you have certain documents, or at least copies, in your car. You need the car’s registration, your insurance information, and your car’s owner’s manual. You never know when you need to reference the information in the manual, so it makes sense to keep it in your car at all times.
